Slatted Fence Stained and Protected with Lacq Produra

Introduction

British wind and rain punish fences, leaving them grey and patchy. Traditional solvent stains smell strong and can peel within a year. Lacq Produra—a vegetable-oil & water blend with minimal solvents—feeds the timber from within, adds rich translucent colour, and flexes with seasonal movement.

How to Stain & Protect Fences

  1. Light Prep – Brush off loose dirt; ensure panels are dry and grease-free.
  2. Stir & First Coat – Mix Produra well. Brush or roll a thin, even coat following the grain.
  3. Wait 6 h – Dust-dry; then add coat 2.
  4. Final Coat – Treated wood: usually 2 coats. Untreated: 2–3 coats for maximum life.
  5. Clean-up – Rinse brushes/rollers with water; no harsh thinners required.
