Introduction

Picnic Bench Problems

Outdoor benches face sun, rain, ketchup, wine and constant bum-sliding wear. Untreated timber greys, cracks and stains quickly.

Why Choose Lacq Produra

The vegetable-oil & water emulsion penetrates fibres, leaving a flexible, breathable shield. It’s low-solvent and food-safe after curing—perfect for family eating areas.

How to Stain and Protect Picnic Benches

  1. Clean & Dry
Wash off dirt or old food spills with mild detergent; rinse and dry.
  2. Light Sand (Optional)
    Smooth splinters; remove sanding dust.
  3. Stir & First Coat
Brush a thin coat following grain (seat tops, legs, braces). Coverage ≈ 16 m² /L.
  4. Wait 6 h
    Touch-dry fast; re-coat same day.
  5. Second Coat
Apply thinly; for pale colours or rough softwood, add a third coat to seat tops.
  6. Cure & Enjoy
Ready for light use after 24 h; fully food-safe then.
