Introduction

Why Outdoor Wood Needs Protection

Rain, frost, UV and everyday wear quickly turn timber grey and rough. Left unsealed, wood absorbs water, swells, then shrinks in the sun—causing cracks and shortening its life.

Why Choose Lacq Produra

Traditional solvent stains smell strong and often peel within a season. Lacq Produra is a vegetable-oil & water emulsion with minimal solvents. It nourishes the fibres from within, creates a translucent coloured barrier, and flexes with the wood. One product covers fences, sheds, benches, pergolas—everything.

How to Stain and Protect Wood

  1. Clean & Dry
Remove cobwebs, mud and loose fibres with a stiff brush. If algae is present, treat with a fungicidal wash and allow to dry.

  2. Light Prep
Sanding is optional—only needed for a super-smooth look. Ensure the surface is dust-free and dry (moisture < 18 %).

  3. Stir & First Coat
Mix Produra thoroughly. Using a flat brush, roller or sprayer, apply a thin, even layer along the grain. Coverage ≈ 16 m² per litre.

  4. Wait ~6 Hours
Produra becomes dust-dry quickly; allow six hours (at ≥ 5 °C) before recoating.

  5. Second Coat
Apply a second thin coat to seal colour and boost UV resistance.
Tip: Raw softwood benefits from a third coat on horizontal surfaces for extra durability.

  6. Clean-up & Cure
Rinse tools in warm water. Produra is surface-dry within hours; give 24 hours before heavy use or placing furniture back.
