About The Product

Coo-Var Profloor Two-Pack Epoxy Floor Paint is a water-based two-pack epoxy designed for heavy traffic floors requiring durable protection against foot traffic, vans, trucks, and forklifts in commercial and industrial environments. Unlike single-pack floor paints that wear quickly under heavy use, this two-pack epoxy system chemically cures to create a rock-hard floor coating that withstands the demands of the most challenging environments, inside and outside.

Developed by Coo-Var with over 115 years of British coating expertise, Profloor is the professional solution for warehouse floors, factory floors, loading bays, car parks, workshops, and any heavy traffic area requiring long-lasting epoxy protection. The water-based two-pack formulation provides industrial-grade durability with low VOC (<10 g/L) and non-flammable properties, making it safer to use than solvent-based alternatives.

When warehouse floors, factory floors, and loading bays are subjected to heavy traffic from forklifts, trucks, and vans, standard floor paints fail quickly, creating costly maintenance cycles and operational disruption. Coo-Var Profloor's two-pack epoxy chemistry creates a chemically cured floor coating that resists heavy traffic, oils, and abrasion for years of dependable service, reducing maintenance costs and downtime.

The water-based formulation provides low odour (<10 g/L VOC) and non-flammable properties, allowing application in occupied facilities without shutting down operations. The 2–4 hour pot life allows controlled application. Coverage of 6–10 m² per kg (30–50 m² per 5 kg pack) makes it cost-effective for large floor areas. Add SPO Anti-Slip Aggregate between coats for slip resistance on ramps and walkways.

Suitable for interior and exterior concrete, wood, masonry, asphalt, tarmac, and stable existing paint. Note: not resistant to exposure to frequent strong chemicals. Prepare surfaces with Oil Remover, Universal Degreaser, and Acid Etch for optimal adhesion. Prime with Proseal High Performance Primer (clean dry surfaces) or Teamac 2-Pack Zinc Phosphate Primer (metal surfaces). Clean tools immediately after use before the epoxy cures.

Per Pack Coverage (Single Coat):
• 5 kg mixed unit: Covers approx. 30–50 m²

Recommended Application: 2 coats for optimal heavy traffic protection

Example Calculations:

• Paint required: Approx. 1–2 packs (5 kg) total
• Recommended: Two 5 kg packs (£300.00)

Medium Floor (50 m² floor area):
• Total area: 50 m² × 2 coats = 100 m² coverage needed

FAQ's

What is Coo-Var Profloor Two-Pack Epoxy Floor Paint and when should I use it?

Coo-Var Profloor is a water-based two-pack epoxy floor paint for heavy traffic floors. Use it when you need durable protection against foot traffic, vans, trucks, and forklifts in warehouses, factories, loading bays, car parks, and workshops, inside and outside.

How is Profloor different from single-pack floor paints?

Profloor is a two-pack epoxy that chemically cures when Part A (base) and Part B (hardener) are mixed. This creates a rock-hard floor coating that is significantly more durable than single-pack floor paints. The two-pack system provides superior resistance to heavy traffic, oils, and abrasion.

Is Profloor resistant to chemicals?

Profloor provides good resistance to oils and general contamination but is not resistant to frequent exposure to strong chemicals. For environments with frequent strong chemical exposure, contact our experts via live chat for advice on the most suitable product.

Can I apply Profloor over existing floor paint?

Yes, Profloor can be applied over stable, well-adhered existing floor paint. Ensure the existing coating is sound and not flaking or loose. Remove all loose paint before application. Lightly abrade the existing surface to improve adhesion.

How do I mix Profloor?

Mix only what you can apply within the 2–4 hour pot life at 20°C. Pour Part B (hardener) into Part A (base) following the correct ratio per the datasheet. Stir thoroughly for minimum 3 minutes. Allow to stand for 5 minutes (induction time) before application. Stir again briefly before use. Clean tools immediately after use before the epoxy cures.

What is the pot life of Profloor?

The pot life of Profloor is 2–4 hours at 20°C. Mix only what you can apply within this time. Pot life will be shorter at higher temperatures. Do not use mixed paint beyond the pot life.

How many coats of Profloor do I need?

For optimal heavy traffic protection, apply 2 coats. Allow minimum 16 hours (maximum 72 hours) between coats. If recoating after 72 hours, abrade the surface before applying the next coat. The two-coat system provides maximum durability and protection.

How long does Profloor take to cure?

Touch dry in 4 hours, hard dry in 8–12 hours at 20°C. Recoat after minimum 16 hours (maximum 72 hours). Full cure for heavy traffic in 5–7 days. Allow full cure before exposing to heavy forklift and truck traffic.

Can I add anti-slip aggregate to Profloor?

Yes, add SPO Anti-Slip Aggregate between coats for textured grip on ramps, walkways, and slip-prone areas. Apply first coat, scatter aggregate whilst tacky, allow to dry, then apply second coat to lock aggregate in place.

What surfaces can I apply Profloor to?

Profloor is suitable for concrete, wood, masonry, asphalt, tarmac, and stable existing paint. Prime concrete, wood, asphalt, and tarmac with Coo-Var Proseal High Performance Primer. Prime metal with Teamac 2-Pack Zinc Phosphate Primer. Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and properly prepared.

What colours are available for Profloor?

Profloor is available in 7 standard colours: Tile Red, Yellow, Forest Green, Flint Grey, Light Grey, Black, and White. Custom colours are available to order (minimum 5 kg). Contact our experts via live chat for custom colour enquiries.

What products do I need to complete my Profloor system?

We recommend using Coo-Var Oil Remover for ingrained oils, Coo-Var Universal Degreaser for cleaning, Coo-Var Acid Etch for concrete preparation, Coo-Var Proseal High Performance Primer for priming concrete, wood, asphalt, and tarmac, Teamac 2-Pack Zinc Phosphate Primer for metal surfaces, SPO Anti-Slip Aggregate for slip resistance, and Application Tools (brushes, rollers, extension poles). This complete system ensures maximum adhesion and durability.
