What Our Customers Say

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Applied over Glocote Yellow on skip fleet — colour still bright after a full year" We applied Glocote Protective over Glocote Fluorescent Yellow on our skip fleet. After a full year of outdoor exposure, the fluorescent colour is still noticeably brighter than skips we painted without the protective coat. Well worth the extra step. — Terry Blackwood, Fleet Operations Manager, Grimsby

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Used on exterior safety bollards — excellent weathering resistance" We applied the full Glocote system including the Protective Coat to orange safety bollards on a construction site. After six months of outdoor exposure including a full winter, the fluorescent colour has retained its brightness very well. The protective coat has clearly made a significant difference. — Niamh Gallagher, Site Manager, Dublin

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Four sizes available — perfect for large projects" We use Glocote Protective regularly on safety marking contracts. The 5L size is excellent value for large projects and the coverage is very good. The gloss finish looks very professional over the fluorescent topcoat. — Owen Cartwright, Painting Contractor, Cardiff

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Applied by airless spray — fast and even coverage" We applied Glocote Protective by airless spray on a large hoarding project. The spray application was fast and gave very even coverage. Thinned with Thinners 14 at 10% as recommended and the finish was excellent. — Deborah Nolan, Specialist Coatings Contractor, Sheffield

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Completes the Glocote system perfectly" We have been using the full Glocote system — Foundation, Fluorescent Paint and Protective Coat — on safety marking contracts for two years. The Protective Coat is an essential final step for any exterior application. The fluorescent colours last significantly longer with it than without. — Ross Mackenzie, Line Marking Contractor, Inverness

Coo-Var Glocote Protective is a specialist clear gloss coating formulated to protect the exterior performance and prolong the colour retention of Coo-Var Glocote Fluorescent Paint. Developed by Coo-Var — a British coatings manufacturer with over 115 years of heritage — it provides a clear glaze that protects Glocote Fluorescent Paint and other compatible products from weathering, extending the life of the fluorescent finish and maintaining colour brightness for longer.

Applied over fully dried Coo-Var Glocote Fluorescent Paint, the clear gloss coat provides a tough, protective film that resists weathering and surface damage. It is the recommended final step in the Coo-Var Glocote Fluorescent Paint system, particularly for exterior applications where the fluorescent paint is exposed to the elements.

The solvent-based formula cleans up with Thinners 14 and can be applied by brush, roller or airless spray. It is available in four sizes — 500ml, 1L, 2.5L and 5L — to suit projects of all scales.
