About The Product

Coo-Var Profloor Plus is the ultimate heavy duty 2-pack epoxy floor paint designed for garage, workshop, industrial, and warehouse floors exposed to heavy vehicles, chemical spills, and extreme traffic conditions. Unlike single pack floor paints that fail under demanding use, this 100% solids solvent-free epoxy formulation provides chemical-resistant high-gloss protection that withstands oils, acids, solvents, and mechanical wear for 5–7 years between maintenance cycles.

Developed by Coo-Var with over 115 years of British coating expertise, Profloor Plus is the professional solution for factories, warehouses, distribution centres, and industrial facilities requiring maximum floor protection. The 2-pack epoxy chemistry creates a cross-linked molecular structure that provides exceptional hardness, chemical resistance, and abrasion resistance far superior to single pack alternatives.

Versatile multi-surface compatibility makes Profloor Plus suitable for concrete, cement screed, wood, tile, asphalt, tarmac, and primed metal floors. Prime wood, tile, asphalt, and tarmac with Coo-Var Proseal High Performance Primer. Prime metal with Teamac High Performance 2-Pack Zinc Phosphate Primer. This versatility allows complete floor protection across mixed-surface industrial facilities with a single coating system.

When industrial floors are subjected to forklifts, pallet trucks, heavy vehicles, chemical spills, and constant traffic, standard floor paints quickly fail, leading to costly downtime and frequent repainting. Profloor Plus's 100% solids formulation provides ultimate protection, with coverage of 17–20 m² per 5kg unit at 180–200 µm dry film thickness creating a thick, durable coating that withstands extreme industrial conditions.

The chemical-resistant formulation withstands oils, fuels, acids, alkalis, and solvents that would destroy standard floor paints. The high-gloss finish is easy to clean, shedding dirt and chemicals for reduced maintenance. The solvent-free 100% solids formulation means zero VOC emissions, making it safe for occupied industrial facilities whilst providing maximum film build in a single coat.

Suitable for concrete, cement screed, wood, tile, asphalt, tarmac, and primed metal floors in factories, warehouses, distribution centres, chemical processing facilities, loading bays, and heavy vehicle traffic areas. Apply over appropriate primers for each surface type. Add Profloor Plus Aggregate for anti-slip texture on walkways and ramps.

What is Coo-Var Profloor Plus and when should I use it?

Coo-Var Profloor Plus is the ultimate heavy duty 2-pack epoxy floor paint designed for garage, workshop, industrial, and warehouse floors exposed to heavy vehicles, chemical spills, and extreme traffic. Use it when you need maximum protection with 5–7 year maintenance intervals in garages, workshops, factories, warehouses, and industrial facilities.

What's the difference between 2-pack epoxy and single pack floor paint?

2-pack epoxy like Profloor Plus requires mixing Part A (Base) and Part B (Hardener), creating a chemical reaction that forms an extremely hard, chemical-resistant coating. Single pack paints are ready to use but offer less durability. 2-pack epoxy provides ultimate protection for heavy industrial use, whilst single pack is suitable for light industrial and domestic applications.

Do I need to prime floors before applying Profloor Plus?

Yes, proper priming is essential for maximum adhesion. For clean, dry concrete, prime with Coo-Var Proseal High Performance Primer. For damp or oily concrete, prime with Coo-Var Dampshield Primer. For wood, tile, asphalt, and tarmac, prime with Proseal High Performance Primer. For metal, prime with Teamac High Performance 2-Pack Zinc Phosphate Primer.

Can I apply Profloor Plus to wood floors?

Yes, Profloor Plus can be applied to wood floors when properly prepared and primed. Sand the wood surface to create a key, then prime with Coo-Var Proseal High Performance Primer. Allow primer to dry completely before applying Profloor Plus epoxy. This provides ultimate protection for wood floors in industrial environments.

Can I apply Profloor Plus to tile floors?

Yes, Profloor Plus can be applied to tile floors when properly prepared and primed. Clean tiles thoroughly, lightly abrade the surface, then prime with Coo-Var Proseal High Performance Primer. Ensure tiles are sound and well-adhered before application. This creates a seamless epoxy coating over existing tiles.

Can I apply Profloor Plus to asphalt or tarmac?

Yes, Profloor Plus can be applied to asphalt and tarmac floors when properly prepared and primed. Clean the surface, repair any damage, then prime with Coo-Var Proseal High Performance Primer. Allow primer to dry completely before applying Profloor Plus epoxy. This provides chemical-resistant protection for asphalt and tarmac floors.

Yes, Profloor Plus can be applied to metal floors when properly prepared and primed. Clean and degrease the metal surface, remove any rust, then prime with Teamac High Performance 2-Pack Zinc Phosphate Primer. Allow primer to cure completely before applying Profloor Plus epoxy. This provides corrosion protection and chemical resistance for metal floors.

How do I prepare floors before applying Profloor Plus?

Clean floors with Coo-Var Universal Degreaser. For ingrained oils, use Coo-Var Oil Remover. For smooth concrete, chemically abrade with Coo-Var Acid Etch. Repair cracks and damage with epoxy repair compound. Prime with appropriate primer for your surface type. Ensure surface is properly prepared before epoxy application.

What is pot life and why is it important?

Pot life is the working time after mixing Part A and Part B before the epoxy becomes too thick to apply. Profloor Plus has 20–30 minute pot life at 20°C. Mix only what you can apply within this time. Warmer temperatures reduce pot life, cooler temperatures extend it. Plan your application to work within pot life.

How many coats of Profloor Plus do I need?

For most applications, 1 coat at 180–200 µm DFT provides excellent protection. For heavy vehicle traffic areas (forklifts, trucks, workshop vehicles), apply 2 coats for maximum protection. Allow 16–48 hours between coats. Full cure 5–7 days before heavy traffic.

How long does Profloor Plus take to cure?

Initial cure 4–8 hours, hard dry 24–36 hours at 20°C. Light foot traffic after 24–36 hours. Full cure for heavy vehicle traffic in 5–7 days. Curing times may be extended in cooler temperatures or high humidity. Warmer temperatures accelerate cure.

Can I add anti-slip aggregate to Profloor Plus?

Yes, broadcast Profloor Plus Aggregate into wet epoxy to create anti-slip texture for walkways, ramps, and slip-prone areas. Apply aggregate evenly whilst epoxy is still wet. Excess aggregate can be swept off after cure.

What colours are available for Profloor Plus?

Profloor Plus is available in 9 colours: Poppy Red, Tile Red, Yellow, Forest Green, Kingfisher Blue, Flint Grey, Sterling Grey, Black, and White. Use different colours to colour-code zones, mark walkways, or match corporate branding. Custom colours available for minimum 10 × 5kg order.

How much coverage can I expect from Profloor Plus?

Profloor Plus provides approximately 17–20 m² per 5kg mixed unit at 180–200 µm DFT. Coverage may vary depending on surface porosity and application thickness. We recommend ordering 10–15% extra for surface variation and mixing wastage.
